About Microsoft India 'Applied Research' Team in Bing Ads

The Bing Applied Research Group works on a broad range of research problems in the sponsored search domain for Microsoft's Bing search engine. Our ongoing projects include large-scale distributed convex optimization; novel auction mechanism design for a variety of scenarios in sponsored search; models for understanding user intent through large-scale NLP and information retrieval techniques; IR and NLP-based ad selection systems; scalable algorithms for click & conversion prediction from historical data; identifying spam & malware in the ads space; image summarization & understanding, and many other related topics.
